I have a minor oil drip on a 318 that I built last year. The drip is from the filter and I have replace filter and re tightened to no avail. I am looking at where the filter screws on at the "basket" , there is a gasket where this attaches to the block. The basket is held on by an inverted hex nipple, which the oil filter also screws on to. I think this nipple may have loosened or maybe just was not tight enough in the first place. Does any one have a torque spec for this, AND do you think I should use blue loc tire to keep it from working loose in the future?

I had this happen to me. Yes on the blue Loctite. I just tightened mine up real tight. I didn't plan on taking it off again. The machine shop used a rubber o ring on mine instead of the gasket
