I am looking to ship a 1952 Hudson Hornet and a 1959 Studebaker Silver Hawk for my Father. They need to go from North ridgeville, Ohio to long beach, CA. I have tried several companies with no luck so far. Several people have told me i should look for a "Hot shot" trucker as an 8 car hauler doesn't want to make the trip without a full load. Can anyone help me out?

Try this guy too. His name is Ray and he’s a broker but he’s done me right a couple of times and others that I’ve referred his way.

Dave Fountain Transport Services...712-210-4019...probably a buck a mile. He's moved my Imperials across the great USA.

I have used Dave Fountain many times in the past myself and he always has transporters that have been vetted over time to do responsible work with no worries.

I have also used SSS Auto Transport which goes specifically from the midwest to the Southern California area including the shipping companies in Long Beach. Last I heard, he was living in Irvine, CA but was considering moving to the Midwest for lower costs of living. His name is Tom and his cell is: 323 459-6628
His rates are very competitive too. Over the years, he has been excellent for me every time. He has an 8 car open hauler.

He also transports non-running cars but they have to roll, brake and steer. He is a direct contact, not a broker. I doubt you could do any better than him in terms of price and reliability or really any issue.

This may be a stupid question but I am a novice to this stuff. When you hire transport company is the mileage costs for a round trip or just from point A to B?
For example let's say I find a car in Indiana and need it here in Minnesota. Would I be paying for just the mileage it's on the trailer? Or from home base to pickup to drop off and back again?
