Can anyone direct me to a reliable source where I can buy an evaporator for a 1972 Plymouth Fury III with factory air. I have had the car since new and want to keep it original instead of hanging an aftermarket on it.

Your best bet maybe to pull it out and have a good radiator shop work it over.

Obsolete Air carries evaporators for '72 Polara, I believe that would be that same as Fury.

Has anyone had any experience with them? I tried to call them and get an answering machine. I have seen some comments about the lack of service from them. Going through the threads in this forum I saw someone who had ordered from them and had not received the order and could not get a call returned from them.

Give Nigel a call at National Moparts.
He may have an NOS one. He has a lot of stuff that isn't in the online catalog.
The ones he does list are spendy at $500 but that's $Canadian funds so $375ish $US.
