OK, I did some more research, and I came up with 2 different part numbers: 6001786 and 6001492. Which one is correct for a 1968 Chrysler 300? Or does it use both?

I think those are the same clips they used on 66/67 Chargers . Possibly '67 B-body too. Don't hold me to either... Download a '67 Dodge parts book and compare the part number. MyMopar

This is listed as a repop for the Charger, but it looks slightly different. It might be worth buying one to try.

Hmmm.... It looks similar, but not exact. It might work. The one on Ebay looks closer, but the p/n is 6001492 and my parts catalog says it should be 6001786. I also need the ones that hold the molding to the fender skirts. They're completely different.

They look identical to the ones that are for the rocker moldings on a 1966 Monaco 500. I was told they're in repro - part number for 66 Monaco was 6002 148.
FWIW, the 66 Coronet 500 that everyone says might work has a different part number 6001 492...

Whether those numbers cross reference to or work for a 68 Chrysler clip number 6001 786 is info only available through a supersede list or by trying...

Your 68 300 uses clip number 6001 786 for the main rocker moulding, HOWEVER, the little pieces that finish the rocker molding profile (the little bits of rocker molding trim which are at the bottom of the wheel opening molding) use clips with a different number - 6024 271 - likely because they're skinny enough that the wider clip you showed a picture of is too wide for the little trim piece of rocker molding.

Here's a picture of mine...

Here is a used set from a 67 Chrysler... maybe they'll fit:

They sure look identical to the Monaco ones and to yours (and to the eBay set of used 67 Chrysler ones), but who knows for sure?

Thanks, I bought the ones on Ebay. They look the closest to what's on my car and they were cheaper. Hopefully age won't be a factor.
My parts book says 6024 271 is the screw with the sealer for the clips. The clips that hold the molding on the fender skirts are 6002 293 and 6002 292. I need those too.

if you know anyone who has a 3D printer they can make that

Sounds like you have some sources, if they don't work let me know. I can replicate them with urethane resin, but need at least 2 orginal ones to make a mold. Good luck.
