Just thought I'd post my example of matching # on a Oct 1967 built 1968 New Yorker with option code 83 440/375hp

So my understanding is 67 had the VIN on the A pillar, not on the fender tag and the engine did NOT have the VIN, only a date code for reference. Starting with 68 model year they started putting the VIN under the windshield on the dash, the VIN was still not on the fender tag but the VIN is on the engine. Is that correct?

yes, 51K miles, documented. father and son bought together and they worked @ dealership, that's their names on certicard
