I've been quoted 350-500 for 8 hours, and yes, I'd want to babysitI've been approached a couple of times by people wanting to use one of my cars in a movie. They were going to pay $150-200 a day. I didn't think the risk was worth it so I turned them both down. Just couldn't trust them with my car and was too busy to waste a day babysitting it.
Out of curiosity hat type of vehicles do you own 500 is some nice change you must have some beautiful cars. Good for you! most of the times they want to pay you nothing, Also you have to watch they don't want to pay you with a 1099. When I did mine I did it for the novelty if I figured out the gas to get there and the time spent it wouldn't be worth it. the do feed you and you get to meet the actor/actreses which is fun. I guess the better your car the more money you get.I've been quoted 350-500 for 8 hours, and yes, I'd want to babysit
I have used my cars several times in the movie I had a beautiful 69 Fury !!! that I used in a movie called Even Cowgirls get Blues which I had to pick up Uma Thurman while hitchhiking. I answered an ad in the Ny Times. The same car I used in a real estate commercial which was a scene when some middle age folks just bought a home in the late 60's and they had there children in the car then the later part the children were grown and the parents left the home in a honda. I also dropped the car off to be used for 6 weeks at the piers in nyc for a police pilot. they paid me 5200 and the movie never got off the ground. I have a friend who works in advertising and she got me those parts. I also used my 68 sport fury convertible for several model shots in a warehouse and once in the dead of winter 4 models used the car to pull up to the beach and got out to play volleyball. I also had a 65 coronet That was used in Bronx Tale. If you look up on google for movie cars wanted there are plenty listed. Don't expect to make any real money it is just to me a fun thing to do. The average money is no more than 2 to 250. The 5200 I made was for 6 weeks of them using the vehicle only it never went off. Also make sure the car is insured for damage, theft and whover is going to be driving the carand also insured if anyone is injured. They also are extremely picky on what cars they use if they are not mint and period correct maybe they will use it as an extra driving down the road. There is a place in long island my friend uses and he does very well by them . I will call him and give you the name they use car from all around the country. Make sure whoever you use read the fine print and don't allow any alterations to be done to you car.
I was quoted $400/day for my police cars six years ago. I didnt do it .. the "fine print" was a show stopper. I could deal with them hanging cameras on them, putting on trailers with camers for interiors with actors talking, etc.
but tire squealing, chase scenes, jackrabbit starts .. take after take ...I could not negotiate that crap away. My stuff aint the best .. but they are real. repairable but not replaceable if they get rolled, wrapped around a tree, stunt man has bad day and misses his marks. not worth it .. leave that work for the clone cop sleds.
work as extras for our cars ... good work if you could get it, and baby sit them to calm your nerves
A nice 67 Charger, and a beater 65 new yorker wagon. I'm gonna add some 80's cars to the fleet, supposedly those are hot right nowOut of curiosity hat type of vehicles do you own 500 is some nice change you must have some beautiful cars. Damn, never heard of that movie but a ton of stars in it!
If I ever had a chance to be in the movies (which I doubt this ruined it for me LoL) I definitely was not my cup of tea. I went to see it with my wife and we left before I was on. LOL I have a copy of the dvd and a friend of mine was able to get a picture of it. When the move came out there was posters that had my car picking up Uma Thurman. I wished I had one of them. You are not going to get rich but I had a great time Uma Thurman was a wonderful person and the staff had plenty of food and drink and could not be any nicer. The car I had was a 69 light green fury 111 4 door hardtop. It was filmed on the water front in Hoboken NJDamn, never heard of that movie but a ton of stars in it!
That was my 69 at 35 seconds
My 69 is at 35 secondsDamn, never heard of that movie but a ton of stars in it!
When I first got my 68 Sport Fury Painted 15000 it costs might as well been a million to me A company wanted to use it I believe Loreal and they wanted to use models in mink coats with the top down. They also wanted to cover the car in some kind of frost to look like ice.It was very tempting seeing the Russian blonde models after looking at the fine print which they said disregard it is just a formality it stated that damage caused to the paint from the chemicals used will not be covered and is the responsibility of the owner. My friend who painted the car I think would of shot me if I decided to do it. You have to be very careful and make sure you use a reputable company and everything is in writing. you certainly don't want your mint hemi charger used in a Dukes of hazard jump scene LOLI remember reading an article about a car that was in a pretty big movie. Meryl Streep I believe.
It was a red convertible Impala if I remember right.
Anyway he got took in the fine print. The interior was ripped paint scratched and a piece of trim ripped off.
They left him hanging on it. Contract did not cover it. If you are your own business, you need your own insurance, if not, you need to see that the contract language covers repairs and be willing to potentially damage your car.
