New project is a 69 Super Bee. Bodywork mostly done with a few spots to rework. Then all the prep and paint. Going to be the newer Mopar Octane red.

No that belongs to my buddy and the Bee is for one of his customers. The truck is affectionately known as the "Tun ner"

I'm not a fan of those grays but all the manufacturers offer them and you see a lot of them so I guess I'm in the minority.

Made some progress over the last few days. Fixed a couple minor imperfections, caulked some seams and the drip rails. Now it's in the booth ready for final primer.

Over the years I've mostly used PPG products but lately they've been kinda pricing themselves out of the market. This car is going to be a very expensive red. PPG wanted $1600 per gallon and we need 2 gallons. Matrix brand was about half the price and is a high quality system so that's what we're going with on this one. As far as filler any of the brand names are good. I usually use Rage by I think Evercoat.

What does 1600 paint give you that the others don't?
Good question Stan. Well compared to the low line paint systems the high quality ones do give you much better coverage and durability. Now in this case PPG versus Matrix I'm not sure PPG is giving anything for the higher price. I'm going by recommendations from others though since I haven't used the Matrix line before. When done I will let you know my experience with Matrix.
