Hi all, I'm new to the forum. A couple weeks ago I got the bug for an early 60's "something big". I've had a handful of 60's cars, one being a '68 Polara 2dht that my wife and I took on our honeymoon. I traded it in on a used mustang when the transmission started going out, but I wish I could find it now. I have a Craigslist alert for every Polara that goes up for sale in the area.
Last week a friend of mine told me about this big green car across the street from him that was for sale all spring and summer with no buyer. So, $2500 and a free set of white wall stripe tires later I was driving this '66 New Yorker sedan home. It's got the power windows and (aftermarket) power locks, AC, power bench seat, a big ol' 440 and green everywhere. I'm planning on fixing it up a bit to reliable (albeit uneconomical...) transportation, then I may paint it next spring if I can find a supplier for new weatherstripping. I am going to get some new wheels very soon, though- the 15" Cragar wires are not my thing.
Anyhow, I'm very excited to be part of this group. I'll be asking a ton of questions for sure!
