New Front wheel bearings

Spent the weekend lifting the front end and replacing the wheel bearings!
What a difference in just the sound of the car on the road!
On a different note:
Does anyone know why I have what looks like a factory hole in the middle point of the front bumper? I've looked at other cars and they don't have it.
I know the one on the left side is for the license plate bracket I just can't figure what the center hole could be for.

Does it look drilled before or after chrome? Maybe someone liked the place in the center better.

No Alan, the center hole is not drilled after chroming. The chrome wraps the edge and the edges are well machined.
