Preparing for the new top has been a slow burn. Had hoped it would have been done by now.
parts ready to go:
correct cologne grain vinyl for top 5 yards.
New rear window plug and glass from a 75 imperial. Rear glass has defrost and I got the switch. Will probably have to upgrade the alternator if I ever want to use it.
Interior trim from same car clean and ready for paint to match the red interior.
Need:
new weather strip for side windows.
Paint rear window trim to match new roof
material.
As part of the prep I spent Saturday and Sunday cleaning the sunroof. I always like to get everything working right before I pull it apart. Better now than later after all the new materials are in place.
Here’s the top finally working properly:
not on the list but while I was at it: repaired the missing button on the pleated leather rear seat:
missing button that was driving me nuts is finally in. Ended up making it out of some red vinyl I found that the previous owner left for the next owner.
Took a little time to give the interior a deep cleaning with some saddle soap followed by some Lexol.
And, of course a good bath.
almost ready.....
