New wheels and tires coming

I finally decided...New Vintique Magnum 500 wheels, 15x7 front and 15x8 rear, with spinner center caps, from Summit Racing. Still trying to decide whether to leave the stock logo in the center caps or buy some inserts for them, or make my own...

I went with BG Goodrich Radial T/A tires, 235/70/15 BFG Radial T/A front and 275/60/15 rears. All 28.0 inches in diameter.

They should be all here and installed end of next week.

Woo hoo! My chrome lug nuts came today.

The wheels, tires, spinners, bolt-on chrome valve stems and chrome lug nuts are here! Installation tomorrow. It should be a nice day to drive it to NTB with the top down.

They look great and fit perfectly. I think it helps the look. The handling seems just a bit improved, but I don't really test its limits anyway.

What is the backspace on your new rims, I assume they are 15 x 7 rims

The backspace is 4.0 on the fronts- 7.0 inch rims
4.5 on the back 8.0 inch rims

One thing that did trip me up was that the driver-side wheel studs are left - thread. I knew it was a possibility, but I did not know my car had them.

This is my first mid 60's Mopar.


We put the old normal lug nuts on the driver side, and I'll have the new chrome ones Tuesday.

Also, the spinners block the studs in a few spots, so it's more tedious to install the wheels than it would be with regular center caps.

Thanks. I did use 8 inch wheels in the back and 7 inchers in the front.
