I would never buy an Eldorado, Toronado, or the later FWD Rivieras because trying to work on anything on the front half of those cars is super expensive and difficult.

One of our old neighbors worked at the GM tech center and had several Toros (maybe even one of these SX models) As a kid, I always thought they looked weird and I didn't "get" the styling. Now I realize it's one of GM's visions of the future, so it seems kinda neat.

Not beautiful, not ugly, but interesting, which is more than I can say for most new cars.

car weighs 4700 lbs. FWIW "Internet" says "55/45" (F/B) so probably not .

rides like a Caddie of the era ..cruisies straight and quiet. floats like a cloud, wallows in corners.

only significant torque steer is on hard acceleration from standing start. power steering effortless.

others with more info please chime in.

Basically the Eldo and the Toro had identical chassis, but the Caddy had a 500 in it. The Eldo weighed about 7000 lbs too.

One of the best features of these cars was the torsion bar front suspension. I owned an '85 Eldo and it rode like a cloud, and became addicted to the torsion ride since. When that car got totaled, the next car that came along with a torsion suspension was my NYer. And that's how I ended up in the C-body scene...

The car in the OP seems like a good buy @ $3750 compared to the others listed.
I always considered these the "C-Body" of GM. Seems like nobody ever wanted to save them or want to keep them, and their values tanked.

That GM trio rusted badly. I knew owners who were doing rust repair while still on their new car payment.

Agreed. I looked at an Eldo years ago, and the front end was ready to fall off. (Ohio car)
The one in Vegas may not have those issues.

Aren' t most Ohio cars rusting into the ground
Yeah, back to the earth they do go. The one I looked at was in Dayton. It was pretty rusty in the belly, but the body was in decent shape. I passed and soon got over those front wheelees cars.

Ohio might be the worst state to buy a car from. Major rust bucket producing state.
