Original 290hp "Converted to dual quad setup using factory parts" and "Grab 5 of you friends and go drag racing" tells me all I need to know. Big pass.

Dave
Right, not sure what kind of times it would do with a 2.76 rear, LOL.

I imagine it probably still has the factory log manifolds with a single exhaust to boot. Going to do nothing except eat fuel.

Dave

Update, it does have headers and MSD ignition.

That and "The ultimate Sleeper":realcrazy:. I like what he did under the hood with all the old style stuff under there, pretty neat. But if it was a sleeper he should of put in a 4 speed.

I'm not posting all the pictures but look at the under the hood photos, you didnt.

Didn't see those. Lost me at "Grab 5 friends and go drag racing". It does have headers and MSD ignition at least. Don't recognize the air cleaner, is that a Direct Connection item?

Dave

Don't Know, it appears that the body may be all original. The engine bay with mods is tastefully done.
If we're looking for a 70 Newport, I'd look at this one. If I bought it I'd switch out the bench seat for buckets and a buddy.

Is this Newport still rolling on it's original tires? Those double whitewalls were only used in 70-71, and don't know of anyone who repros them . . .
Odd . . . this car must have been off the road for years. Can't imagine anyone (without a death wish) trying to actually drive on tires that old.

CL23L0C223291 looks in great shape. I don’t think that the asking price is out of line given what the photos show and thé full provenance info. Here are a few for records.

Hard to confirm much once a car dealer/flipper has it and embellishes the description and price.

I do like the car though.

I owned a 1970 Chrysler Newport Custom for many years and it was my work daily driver for at least 15 of those years. By the time I let it go, it had just over 100K miles on it and I sold it for more than this guy is asking for this one. Being a dealer and only asking $10K makes me wonder whether he appreciates what he has there. I don't think he is asking enough for it.

Mine was incredibly smooth, quiet, with a/c that worked great the whole time. It was one of the best cars I ever owned, and I only sold it because a guy that saw it had to have it.

Mine was white (no vinyl roof) with a luxurious turquoise cloth pattern interior that I really liked and it was very comfortable.
