1971 Chrysler New Yorker Sedan - $8,500 - Salem, Indiana

FB Description

1971 Chrysler New Yorker 440/727/8.75 rear. 1 owner originally bought in Georgia. My grandfather bought a brand new have an original bill of sale! Yes, it's numbers matching, completely stored inside the heated shop for years! If you need more information call my father at [hidden information] as I'm listing for him!!!! The price is $8500 OBO doesn't hurt to ask! Hasn't been started since 2008 but ran when we parked it final time! VERY CLEAN TITLE And for those who have those great comments about being dusty it's not washed because it's terrible to get out just because and the price isn't set in concrete because there are no comps to get a baseline price on. I'm not trying to hit a home run I assure you. Negative comments just move on!

Very nice find.

Agreed. The asking price is high, though, given it is a high-miles triple pickle.

the last time I took a chance on this type of car I lost my *** lol.
Not quite. You could have, almost did, but in the end you did not

This said, I agree with you that more pics are needed. Underside, STUB, rails, trunk pan, etc. The photo of the rear window gives me pause as to whether some rust might be lurking under the top. I also wonder whether it is dust or mold on the seat vinyl?

Why are they all triple pickles?

Wish it was black with a colored interior.

Perhaps the price might reflect what it would be worth in the same condition in which it was parked, rather than it's current "needs cleaning" condition? What's under the vinyl roof has been there a good while, obviously, but being in a possibly dry environment, might have made it a bit less than if it had not been in the building.

Personally, that dark green metallic paint and vinyl roof were really nice on those cars. The darker metallic showing the lines and body contours better than some of the non-green colors did, as I recall.

In many cases, that old acrylic enamel paint can buff and shine nearly like new, by observation. Some of Chrysler's paint colors just didn't seem to fade or deteriorate, especially their gold metallic, in those model years.

This car deserves a good cleaning and refurbishment to return to its former glory. I hope it happens!

Agreed. This Salem, IN car reminds me of CH23T1C130693 -- another triple pickle that was first advertised by member @DasBoot in Washington state back in 2018, and that I almost bought (incompatible buyer and seller calendars sank the sale). That NYer was originally triple-pickle too (GF9 H7F7 V1F, i.e., its interior had brocade instead of vinyl), but her roof was replaced by a black vinyl alternative a few years ago for waterproofing.

Here is that other car's tag for records -- would love to see the Indiana sister's tag.

Given the amount of mold on the seats, this car saw some extended outside storage as well. It has not run for 12+ years so it will need a lot of work. I doubt this car is worth $2.5k in its current condition. Seller would be advised to get the car out and clean it up if there is going to be any chance of sale at a reduced price.

I have driven car's that many may consider gross, yet they were clean, just a little rough around the edges. That interior is absolutely disgusting! It may clean up, with several hours, and plenty of elbow grease and sweat, throw in a couple of weeks, or months of airing out. For 8500$ USD?

This one might go to Europe once up and running..
Brougham and being a sedan is not a common mix.

No Brougham in 1971. That sub-series started in 1972.

@cbarge: The key Brougham differentiator for me is the door armrests, which IMHO are much more comfortable on a 1972-1973 Brougham than in any non-Brougham fuselage model (excluding Imperials).

This said, if the price is negotiable, this car may now be a solid deal (conditional on inspection). @frankthetank81[/USEExut

Edit: listing is gone.
