O gauge Trains

Sabrina spoiled me with some goodies for Xmas! She’s a good women! LOL

A 2023 U.P. Alco set with their original box and cartons! Gorgeous engine! The horn works great!! Body is a little dirty. Cleaned it up a bit, but was afraid of damaging the paint. Need to get the passenger cars for it, to make a complete set, as this is the 50th anniversary set.

She also got me a 204 Santa Fe Alco set. Seems to be a rarer one year only engine (1957). Somebody added a newer electric horn in the dummy unit. Luckily the stuff is just glued in, and not screwed down to the frame.

Also got a Lionel crossing gate, and some star cars for the streets. Was fun hacking up the Fastrack to get it to work with my realtrax. 3 different track systems are there to make it work. Realtrax Fastrack and tubular track pins connecting it all together. Seems to work good enough.

Also picked up a new stand set of people, and a little subway stairway for the city. Sabrina was gifted a fancy moon desk topper. She had no idea where to put it. I believe I found a spot! LOL

Some Xmas garland cut up, makes some decent weeds in the ballast! Not bad for a $1 a piece on sale locally. And have more than enough to do the entire layout if needed lol.

Some GoPro fun from tonight..

I picked up some of this Woodland Scenics deep pour water murky to give a try. I like it! I think I could have done a better paint job for the “floor” of the pond/drainage ditch. But still happy how it came out.

Used some Silicone to form some walls to keep the “water” in. Once dried, painted the floor with some acrylic paint mixed up to simulate mud.

once that dried, I added some JTT cattails, and some ballast to make it look more natural. Also picked up some little fish for the pond lol. They are a lil too big unfortunately!

My “wall” wasn’t big enough next to the road. Ended up with a bunch of spillage trying to cover the fish completely. Oh well. I got some fishing figures on the way, maybe we can do something with em. Also added some JTT lily pads.

The pictures really don’t do it any justice. I’ve got a couple other things coming, to help finish out the scene.

New table is 19’ x 4’ long, with a 5’ x 4’ L on the back wall. Will make a little draw/swing bridge to get the main line over to the new table, and add 2 more lines onto it.

Plans are for a switch yard, farm, housing development, and continuing the city. It will take a while to fill!! Starting over again it feels like!

So if I am seeing this correctly, you now have to walk outside and enter the "Train Room" from the exterior door? I suppose you could crawl under the tables :poke:

No, No, that would be a bit crazy... Don’t want to go overboard now.... Ha!

There’s about 3’ between the 2 tables for access. Wanna build a hinged bridge to connect the 2. That way just swing the bridge up to get access all around.

YOU are out of control .

Im starting to think crack may be a little cheaper.....

Luckily the significant other just rolls her eyes. For now at-least.... LOL That’s the beauty of no kids I think, I get to be the big kid.

I made it a little difficult for her to leave me last month too....

She was already stuck, now you've just converted her to "management"

Congrats to you both
Mighty fine! Congratulations! She finally made an honest man outa you. Huh?
Nah... he was always honest... now he's going to have to move the toys into the big toy box in the back yard .

Tell me, why did you really build the garagemahal? I bet it has something to do with not being allowed to build an engine in your kitchen. So far Javier @73 T&C is the only guy I know allowed to do that, and I bet he still has to sneak parts into the dishwasher...:D

Congrats!!!

Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, She seems to be doing a good job moving over to her management duties quite well. Ha! The boss in her has started coming right out!

They all wonder how we ever got along without adult supervision.

You did good, Sabrina's more tolerant than most, and besides... she's a sweetheart.
