Oil Cap from 1970s Big Block Valve Covers. Ditching the cheap chrome junk valve covers and going back to stock.
Oil cap Rubber Seal was rock hard. 1st pic on right. Where can I buy a new Rubber Seal?

just FYI. VHT SP 100 sprays on normal.
Duplicolor DE 1652 is runny. I had to use 7 very light coats, like I had to leave gaps with every coat. No full coverage in one coat.

I had the same problem with my '65 Barracuda's gas cap. It looks just the same...

I found some rubber sheet and cut one, using the old as a pattern. Basically 1/16th (.062) thick rubber gasket. I think I found it on eBay.

Here ya go:
More Information for GATES 31066

Stant closed the Arkansas factory that made caps and thermostats in 2021 and i believe that division sort of merged with Motorad even though other divisions of Stant still exist...might be old inventory being used up

You can get sheet gasket rubber at Home Depot, Ace Hardware, AutoZone etc. I do as you have; Cut mine from 1/8" sheet for my /6 oil cap, and a PS pump reservoir also. Good scissors help when doing this.

Yes, a pity about Stant. Motorad uses Palestinian slave labor. I don't buy that brand.

at this point i think they are the only game out there...multiple attempts last year to buy different brands from all the chains resulted in Motorads in all the different boxes
