I,am puting a 68 383 motor in my 65 fury 3 , the oil pan i was told to use is a 187 i think it,s a 4 quart pan but the pickup tube for my 68 i think is longer i cant seem to find one for a 65 motor any suggestions ?

The pickup tube should be the same, the 187 pan has a notch for clearance of the steering linkage. Unless your other pan is a deeper pan. What pan is currently on the 383?

You need strainer pn 2463467 to go with the 187 pan.

the 402 pan is less capacity compared to the 187 pan which is correct for your C body.. The 402 is for a B body and could be sucked dry by high rpm operation for too long,so be carful using a 402 on anything, keep rpm low. I have used a 187 on a B body which gives more oil supply

Thanks guys for the info, I think the 187 pan would be the one to use but I can’t seem to locate the 2463467 strainer anywhere? I guess if I have to I can cut one down and retread it, yuk!

They aren't that hard to find. Summit or Jegs probably has them.
