One wire alternator help

What do I do with stock charge wire
I'd disconnect it at the alternator, insulate the end so it can't short to ground and tie it up out of the way. Alternately just cut it off and discard.
In reality, leave it in place, it won't cause any problems.

thank you for your info, the high amp alternator is on its way back to summit, I have a stock alternator that I'm gonna wire to the battery so it bypasses the ammeter gauge, and diffently gonna get relays for headlights.

So can I run a charge wire directly to the battery when using a stock alternator, would that be better than going through the firewall.
Absolutely.
Don't disable the wire to and from the ammeter ( original charge wire) let them run in parallel. Check/clean your connections at the starter relay. Your regulator on the firewall could use clean connections also. It can also be replaced by a electronic version sold here by a member on eBay.
