I've pulled the parking brake vaccum actuator last night as I've heared a hissing sound in the footwell area. After a closer inspection (using a flashlight to take a glimpse into the canister) I found a small hole in the diaphragm.

From what I found so far, these actuators are not beeing made and there is no place that rebuilds them, is that correct ? Also, is it correct that they were used in 69-73 imperials and 73 new yorkers only ?

I've found a few NOS online for between $150-250ish. But since they are the same age I wonder how long it takes until one of them NOS ones goes bad too.

I'm thinking to cut open the canister and vulcanize the diaphragm or something, not sure yet. Also not sure yet how to join the cut pieces again, since welding may not work (potentially ruining the diaphragm)

Has anyone ever done that before ?

best regards,
Mike
