The first gen camino was pretty cool as a hot rod but that's about it.

You're right about the useless part though.

Right Bob, forgot about the Plymouth Scamp/ Dodge Rampage, these model years barely exist in my mind. I don't miss such versions either but I agree with Dave that there would have been a market for Mopar loyalists, sales numbers overall were not bad with the GM/Ford counterparts IIRC.

Chrysler wouldn't even entertain building one of these in a C-Body but I believe a 1969-1973 Polara version would of been practical, functional and competitive with El Camino and Ranchero....especially with a 440.
 
GM and Ford went down already to B-body based cars during the fuselage years btw.
