Why was oil filter dry, should always be filled before installation. Is the gear turning on the shaft aftermarket ones are pinned to prevent this.
How do you keep oil in a horizontal filter long enough to install it?

The filter material soaks up a lot of the oil and holds it back for a sec. Just be quick and have the pan under it.How do you keep oil in a horizontal filter long enough to install it?

Here's the junk but I belive it's old junk as some of it seems to be hardened corc valve cover sealing and I never used corc valve cover.
No metal what so ever, it's far to light...
Thanks everyone for all your advice!!
I changed the pickup and oil pump, did fill the filter half way and primed the system and now the pressure is back!

The long filter will hold a quart, but don't fill it all the way. 1/2 pint or so will do it.How do you keep oil in a horizontal filter long enough to install it?

Timing sprockets and chain are replaced earlier, the small plastic pieces in the the screen must be from the old nylon sprocket.
