Hi guys
Just a quick question on the next idea for the Fury interior. Right now it is auto on the column. I am thinking of the older style push button shift from 63 or 64 maybe. Anyone ever tried it. Car is far from original and thinking of building it into console which has not been built yet. Let me know and again thanx for everyone's help. Frank

Hi welcome. To answer your question, yes it can be done. First off ,what year fury is it? Then you would need the puhbutton trans. and driveshaft from a mopar car 64 and older...65 trans. may work also because those were cable shift too. 66 and up they used rods to shift the trans. A buddy over at F.B.B.O built a cool console for his 63 plymouth fury race car..pushbutton is like 2 ft. above the floor hump.Put it this way when your slingshotting off the line in a blown HEMI pinned to the seat, you dont want to blow a shift..Ill see if I can find some pics....John

Hi
Fury is 68 and has a 360 in it. Just looking at a "something different set up". Can it be converted to the cable deal

Here'z your shopping list Rookie. '62 to '65 trans and ''64 or '65 will be the cheapest route. Why? '61 was the last year for the cast iron Torq Flight 727 and the last two years will get you away from the drum brake on the back of the tail shaft. So then you can fab the parking brake cablez so you have something that will work with your rear drumz on your '68, and the "trunnion U-joint" is easy to replace with a splined u-joint. A custom drive shaft will be mandatory(No big deal)...Don't ask me how I know all this weird crap, but I just do lol. Jer

OOPZ, You'll have the fab your cross member with the transmission mount to accept the transmission from the year you chose too...another no big deal. Sorry 'bout that, they say the mind ain't the first thing tah go but it iz, Jer

With what you haven't forgotten could still fill a web site bigger that Wikipedia.
Jeripedia. I like that..
