Remember when?

sorry for "local (great lakes region, parts of canada, etc)" thing, but if this soft drink was distributed in your region in early-mid 1970's, you may recall this.

Faygo was based in Detroit. That "boat" was a local icon too.

I miss that kind of advertising. Rare these days: too much dreck that makes Earl Scheib sound like a college professor.

I remember the car, but I was "driving a 5 speed bike, and I knew it was 250X my monthly allowance. Not gonna be, and never has been, under my ownership. :)

I remember when I was 8, the local chrysler/plymouth dealer had a 1970 plum crazy Superbird on display and was instantly possessed by it. My father who was a chrysler man thought it was the ugliest car he ever saw!, hes dead now but he did realize later on how valuable they became.

Stumbled across several vids looking for something else.

These stills are from one of them, called "You might be old if you remember these".." I counted at least six separate ones, could be more.

A couple of the cars in that video are of a once-familiar make: Oldsmobile. I think I saw a Plymouth station wagon in the full-service gas station.

Some of the films in my classroom had separate audio and had to be synced manually. Also, those film strips where a beep in the audio cued the operator to advance to the next frame.

I just turned 58 this past weekend. That used to sound so old
