Faygo was based in Detroit. That "boat" was a local icon too.

my memory is fading but reminds me of one of our "minitel" screens in France in the 1990's -- in the early days of internet that supplanted it in our Américain ex-patriate household

I remember when I was 8, the local chrysler/plymouth dealer had a 1970 plum crazy Superbird on display and was instantly possessed by it. My father who was a chrysler man thought it was the ugliest car he ever saw!, hes dead now but he did realize later on how valuable they became.

We had a very similar thing on the NATO base in Keflavik, Iceland in the late '80s - early '90s. It was the big thing in the UK about the same time.

A couple of the cars in that video are of a once-familiar make: Oldsmobile. I think I saw a Plymouth station wagon in the full-service gas station.

Some of the films in my classroom had separate audio and had to be synced manually. Also, those film strips where a beep in the audio cued the operator to advance to the next frame.

I just turned 58 this past weekend. That used to sound so old…
