Might be a small difference between an actual pyrometer in the exhaust vs an infrared gun
Man, brain fart for me. 700-800 idling, 1100 @ 55mph, 1400 @ 75mph. I run mine as lean as I can at cruise with lots of timing.

Head gasket :soapbox:
Will also need a heater core
Lots of body work and paint and vynal top
I guess i always wanted another project to add to the other 7 i have

If you are sure you have a bad head gasket, I would suggest you drain the coolant and put some oil in each cylinder so that you do not come back to a stuck engine later when you get around to repairing it.

After i looped the heater core i put some 91 in the tank i have been driving it around with no problems

Before you go too crazy, keep a couple things in mind..... First is the infared thermometer only measures the outside temperature. Second and very important to understand is that a good infrared thermometer is only good to +/- 4°. Cheaper versions may not even be that good and there are a lot of factors that may affect your reading.

They are good for figuring out hot spots etc.. Just don't figure in them giving you a true measurement.
