The rear air ride should be able to use any air shock. The sensor is in the arm bolted to the rear drivers side frame rail. The rest is making sure the air lines aren't pinched and that you have a working vacuum operated air compressor and a leak free (not rotten) reservoir (tucked under the drivers side in front of the leaf spring).
Rear air ride debuted in 75 on Imperials and then was optional on everything Chrysler (popular on wagons) until 78. I don't remember if it was available on Dodge or Plymouth...I don't recall ever seeing factory rear air ride on anything but an Imperial or a Chrysler.
