Ok then, the slab sides are big but not the biggest.
My Moparmate wants a performance Polara and I think he has one.

Seen a few at the drag strips and he wants the quickest!
Its running 13.20 in drive on 'pump gas' and street tyres.

He has decided to sell the beautiful Polara to me and guess what.
I want to run a 12.99, any faster and it needs a rollcage for safety.

What's the best slabs in the USofA???

There's this thing locally. Seen it race but don't recall the time, low 12's is my guess. There's another polara hardtop locally too, guy claimed it made 650, and i was asking him about the stock stub frame at that power level and said it was fine.

I want to get to the mid 12's on my wagon. It's just a 383 but at 11-1 compression on a moderate build motor and without the interior I think i can get there. The straight six sedan factory wet weight was 3200 pounds (i think) with the full interior. Let's say we're around there with the wagon at 450-490, i think it's doable.

Wow, that 66 Polara looks awesome indeed.
He said 550 horses but its probably more?

Great to see folks loving their slab sides.
Wagons always look great on the 1320 so good luck with yours Stev.

My Moparmate here in the UK has the only 65 Fury wagon with a 452ci motor.
He wants to run 12's too as its his grocery getter as well.

From what I remember on various polls on the C body Facebook groups, the Finnish one is 2 seconds quicker than everyone else.

There are a couple 65-66 cars in the 9’s, and maybe 5-6 slabs in the 10’s.

I’m hoping to go low 10’s with mine next year. It’s gone 11.30’s a couple times, and I completed a drag and drive event with it in 2023.

I'm not sure if this video will work from FB, I've been out for a couple years, but, am running 6.90s in a half of a drag race.

Nice rides, any idea on times?

We just rebuilt that thing. It has been sitting still for years, and we are still sorting it out. Cut almost 500 lb out of it and built a new chassis, now good for 6.5 seconds. I think we will be rady for new best next summer. Here is a small video of the rebuild process, took almost six months.

What's your combo? 6.90's in the 8th is hauling!!
65 Fury, 4K race weight, RB block 521 CI, 5 speed Passon, 11.25 CR, TF 240 heads, ported, 337 intake, 269/272 roller cam, Progression Ignition, 4:10 Dana, 28x11.50 DOT slicks.
After sitting a couple years I pulled it out of the garage and threw new tires on the rear. Went to the new 1/8 mile track near me and ripped off best ever 1.52 60 ft. Was pretty happy. I bought a place in MI to retire to, will bring the car up next Spring, maybe see you on a track some time.

I watched your progress, you are doing a great job on your car!

Thank you! Will definitely update everybody when the new motor is in, it's getting dynoed early next week.

Yours is a really well sorted package, especially with the 5 speed. Have heard so many great things about the 337 intake as well, seems like it's about perfect for yours. That has to be a riot to drive, bias ply slicks and a manual are spicy for sure. Will definitely look for you up here, we've got so many good tracks in 2-3 hours of Detroit!
