Stupid window regulator clips

I have a 68 that has the regulator secured to the frame and rollers in the window with those funny shaped plus signs with a circle going around the outside of it. I'm looking to replace it with a c clip. What is the proper size to replace it with? Or do I have to use stock replacements?
