The People Have Spoken...

This is what I said back in January:

I almost never comment on this stuff, but at the risk of alienating myself from this forum, I'm making an exception.

I agree with pretty much everything above except for the Trump/Sanders thing. Donald Trump is not smart enough to be POTUS. He's nothing more than a school yard bully.

It terrifies me to think that there are that many Americans that believe in him to elect him. I don't think that will happen.

I'm not talking about political correctness, I'm talking about basic common sense.

Much like Mitt Romney, Trump has given no details about his proposed policies/plan. When pressed he evades, deflects, and avoids the issue.

There is no way that a silver spoon blowhard that's bankrupted four companies during his career has the slightest clue as to how to be POTUS.

That's it for me.

John

This is what I say today:

I was completely wrong on my thought that the American people as a whole were smart enough to keep Trump out of the White House.

That saddens me deeply.

Trump's business career is a clear prediction of how he will rule the land.

I have three questions for everyone's consideration:

1. Do you understand that a man that can be baited into a confrontation by a Tweet now has the nuclear codes at his disposal?

2. Do you really have so little respect for others-such as minorities, other countries, the potential future of the planet, women(like perhaps your spouses), etc., that you'll support a man who's threatened to ignore the election results if he lost and to jail his competitor if he won?

3. After hearing/seeing/reading all of his lies and exaggerations about everything, do you really think that he will deliver on anything other than to promote himself and his cronies?

To be clear, I did not vote in this election, no candidate was worthy of my vote. And I won't vote for "a lesser of two evils".

My common sense/bullsh*t meter has been pegged in the red since Trump descended the escalator in his gaudy tower.

And I'm just a guy from Schenectady with a high school education.

I have learned one thing from all of this, ignorance and denial are incredibly powerful forces.

Again, that's it for me.

I hope to continue to interact with all of you on the car side.

If not, too bad for me.

John
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm amazed that the American public allowed these two absolute sh!theads to even have the honor of running for president.

I am keeping a open mind. But the last time there was such piss poor choices I was out of business in 8 years.

Our prayers have been answered...... A business man, not a political man.
Of course this could all go horribly wrong..... but as he said what have you got to lose?

People respect other world leaders because of their uncertainty, perhaps they'll think twice now without an Obama type in the oval office.

I remain in the glass half full group unlike the glass half empty pessimism. I'm on the Trump train and riding it till the end, we'll see.

Well since everyone is putting their two cents in, here is mine, I DID NOT LIKE EITHER CANDIDATE IN THIS ELECTION, but the one I did choose lost. I hope the country does well in the next four years, and that Washington starts to listen to the voters and run some candidates that are "THE BEST" and not the "Worst of two evils". Last thing, for those who did not vote, myself and all the veterans did not fight for your right to vote, for you not to go out and use it.

Speaking only for myself as a Canadian.....

You know I had the VERY same skit playing in my head this morning when I heard the results. I gave up somewhere after midnight.

Should be fun and thank you everyone for keeping me employed for about the 10 years while we sort out and make changes to comply with whatever he does with the ACA. It's all dollar bills here.

And for those of you so inclined, the count down to the end of an error has begun..

I think Trump will put the brakes on the downward spiral America has been in for quite some time. Everyone who has profited, not just monetarily, from America's near complete downfall, in all aspects, should be very worried. Those who truly have good intentions and a desire to prosper, are now in the box seat, not having to sit and watch the vultures feed on the carcass of a once great nation. Rejoice people!

Doesn't work like that, there are specific checks and balances he can't just order a strike because he wants to.

2. Do you really have so little respect for others-such as minorities, other countries, the potential future of the planet, women(like perhaps your spouses), etc., that you'll support a man who's threatened to ignore the election results if he lost and to jail his competitor if he won?

Loves me some minorities, and I love my wife more. She picked Trump well before I did. I was still crossing fingers for Carson and Paul. She says the way women talk aout each other in catty circles is way worse than anything Trump has ever said. I believe her. I've seen the knitting circle drinking wine before.

3. After hearing/seeing/reading all of his lies and exaggerations about everything, do you really think that he will deliver on anything other than to promote himself and his cronies?

John

Can't be any worse than the usual trash and cronies that inhabits the offices in DC.

Well, thanks for actually answering the questions.

Speaking of quotes, when are you going to correct your H. L. Menken quote?!? IE: "he is usually AN outlaw in democratic societies."~ H.L. Mencken

Yes I know. Wouldn't be living up to the spirit of that quote if I were to conform to someone's policing of grammar would it?

If yer gonna quote somebody, you should quote them accurately. It has nothing to do with grammar. Again. . . I give up. . .
