The Time Has Come....

For now, we're going to leave it be. The "new" iron is on the motor now. He was putting the exhaust studs into the one head when I popped by to drop a new air filter on him. We MAY drive her home tomorrow. I want his sealants to cure nicely before trying anything. Will post pics of the finished product then.

Down to hooking up the Edelbrock 1405 now! Shall I get an after market throttle cable bracket, or just stick with the essential bits from Edelbrock's install manual, and fish the accelerator cable around and hook it to the throttle adapter? We WILL use their kickdown adapter, for SURE!

The tunability of these trouble free carburetors is quite fantastic.

I still have my metering kit somewhere.

Friday, 10/21/22, LOOKING GOOD!!! I expect to drive Gertrude home in a couple hours. Just waiting on the master mechanic who did the job to get back from his banking errands. Being a shop owner imposes that ugly **** on Gifted Souls..... Will follow this up with a PERFORMANCE report ASAP.

YES! They're truly "user friendly" carbs. I figure 600 CFM will do to get around in traffic on these streets.

Call it ChiCAP these daze. The "capitalist roaders" won out over 40 yrs ago. Stalin never thought too much of even Mao's claims to be "socialist" and he knew a thing or 2 about ideological commitment, and what to do with it. China today is what China was 2100 years ago, a heavily centralized, hydraulic economy state which permits the peasants to grow food, provide bodies to serve the state as bureaucrats when educable, as per Master Kung, or as booted, uniformed fly fodder if not sufficiently "gentlemanly." The state owns all essential industry, suffering private profit only when the profiteer shares enough of the loot with the ministers. NOTHING has changed in China. NOTHING! The ancient Han state banned large scale iron production to keep the peasants disarmed. Today, the chinese still can't forge decent iron as a consequence of this policy, inculcating fear of iron and outstanding individual behavior for 2.1 millennia. They focus on appearances, as per Master King, NOT function. Appearance IS Function to them.
