Trunk Mat fit... 1966 Polara

I test fit the trunk mat last night but it doesn't fit very good at all.

I checked the invoice and see that I was shipped a mat for a 65 Fury...

It is a convertible trunk mat but not the right model of car.

When I did mine, and always suspicious of the fit of "exact" cut mats, I just bought a 54" x 80" piece and then cut to fit myself. Ergo, a perfect fit.

My 73 and the stock is the same for many years since cut to fit

Whew thats pricey. Been shopping around for a mat as well. Stock interiors has 56"x80" vinyl for $44.95

I have to agree.
the vinyl perfect match was $80cdn taxes in

That stuff is similar to what one finds for a Mustang until they see what really came in the car. The original mat is thick burtex rubber as in my Cougar. I didn't want felt nor vinyl for my trunk.

The I got for my 69 was made of a rubber material much like the originals, I have seen the cheap felt back ones, the one I got wasn't that. The one I got was from REM.

I bought a cheap roll of automotive carpet on Ebay and used the old mat as a pattern. It ended up looking very similar to the optional trunk "dress up" package that Chrysler offered.

I bought the trunk carpet from Gary Goers for my '65 Chrysler. Excellent fit and you can't beat the look.
