very clean 1969 Fury lll original California car
440 w/727 under 40K original miles, Original Build Sheet
originally a 383 car, it now has a low mileage 71 440 steel crank 4bbl, Duel exhaust and nice glass packs w/HD 727 tranny with shift kit
HD suspension and drivetrain includes sway bar, larges drum brakes, 7 & 6" steel wheels with Coker Red line tires and adjustable air shocks for ride comfort along with an open 3.23 rear 8 3/4 rear-end.
Originally an air car the "under Hood" components are not there. Interior is original and very nice.
Power seats, working AM radio
In 2006 it was repainted the Gold Poly...body is straight, the only rust is minor surface rust in the trunk.
Vinyl top is original
The few issues are: Speedometer replaced(not original miles) fuel & temp gauge not working

Well I actually would like to learn more and hear more opinions as always and I know you or your posting habits and was just saying it probably deserves a separate thread since by your just saying it, it's likely to start a discussion.

I asked the owner and he said a previous owner or the one previous to that had a 440 he was trying to stuff in a Barracuda and didn't work out so well so he pulled the 383 out of the Fury and swapped the 440 into it and stuck the 383 in the Barracuda. I don't know if that makes any sense as I am not familiar with the older smaller cuda. I thought the 383 and 440 were pretty close in size.
Thanks for all the compliments on the car. It was all the previous work and care of the owners. I was just lucky enough to be there at the correct time. I have been looking for a quite a few months to find 69 furys. They are hard to find in any kind of decent shape. 65's and 66's ,67 ,68 seem to be plentiful. The gentleman I bought this from is a great guy and we are both happy with the deal. Now it's my job to keep her sweet so another down the road may enjoy it when I am done essentially renting it!

They are but the Raised Block RB 440 is wider at the top than the Big Block B 383.

Sounds like he was trying to keep the existing power brakes on the A-body.
Can't with the higher deck 440 hitting the booster.

Of the many things my new car needs I would like to do a front disc brake upgrade. Anyone live with all drums with no problems other than keep 100 ft or more behind the next car?
