Thanks for compiling this info. It's very helpful to the hobby.

When you put data into context some really interesting and important things can be documented.

SPD assignments can be all over the map. They can be consistent and logical but once in a while, you get an outlier (177935) that is out of sequence. If we could dive deep into this car, what would we find that caused it to be scheduled a week later than some of the other VIN peers? Dealer payment issues? Supply chain issues with a specific option? Why was the VIN still assigned but the SPD pushed out instead of holding the order and scheduling the car for a later date?

VIN assignment has NOTHNG to do with production sequence. Even in this small sample, VIN to completion dates is not consistent.

Cars were built well before and after the SPD Even up to a month before the SPD. IF the car was completed almost a month before the SPD, that means SPDs were assigned over a month out from when the order was processed and VIN assigned. To me, that seems like a long lead time especially if you are trying to wrap up end of year production.

It would be very interesting to know how many of these cars were customer ordered and how many were sales bank cars. That may help explain some of the data.

Beginning and end of year discrepancies between SPDs, VINS and production show wider discrepancies than during the rest of the year. This data is consistent with other data I've see that shows end of year SPD assignments and completion dates have wider swing and variance of SPD to completion dates. Wrapping up end of year produciton was 'wonky' and less consistent than other parts of the year.
