Hey guys,
Im a newbie to restoration, first car is a 1960 Dodge Dart Seneca (318 poly 5.2 V8). I'm in month 9 with all engine parts and under belly painted an electrical complete (added reverse lights, restored and updated orig radio, etc). I've dropped engine and tranny back in and am now buttoning up. Unfortunately, I only started labeling things later in the break down process, needless to say lesson learned. I have most things accounted for except a couple bolts and this. I spent much time online trying to identify it...google Ai image, dodge parts book, service manual etc. I know it goes somewhere near the front of the engine because it was with power steering pump, water pump and generator. Please help!

I would think the best resource would be the "exploded views" in the factory parts book. At least you have a general idea of the part of the car it came from.

The upper bolt holes would determine what it attached to. As the lower two holes might be where "return springs" might attach to?

Just some thoughts,

I'll look again, its embarrassing but i would hate to have to take down a bunch of stuff after finding out where it goes.

Don't be embarrassed about it! It's happened before, many times, to lots of other car people.

The old "extra parts" that are left over when a job is finished and everything seems to be working as designed. Do NOT throw it away! Put it in a safe place, like in the trunk in a good box. If needed, you'll know where it is.

Take care,

Could this be part of the transmission tail mount on the crossmember? It looks like it's a plate or shim for mounting, like might be there.

I thought so too. Because of how thick it is, I assumed it was for something heavy. But I had it in the area where the power steering pump and alternator where waiting to get reinstalled. The bolt pattern is odd...im taking another look today.
