I'm looking at the clubs attending Carlisle. I see For A Bodies Only, and For B Bodies Only. Where's For C Bodies Only? I guess Carlisle Events doesn't care about the C's. It doesn't really matter because we're registered under Mopars In Motion anyways. But still, it'd be to nice to get acknowledged. Are FABO, FBBO AND, FCBO even "clubs"? I mean, I think this is kind of a Mopar discussion site not an actual "club". Would/do we at least get a tent?

That's why there is no FCBO tent. Guys like you that think it doesn't matter and register under a different club name.
Read the guidelines for a club tent.....

We don't want that responsibility regardless. My spots have been the FCBO hangout since its inception.

The first, and only time I've attended, due to job imposed time constraints I simply walked the rows of C bodies talking with the few around their cars. A formal tent at least gives those who maybe interested in full size Chrysler products a place to start, it would have helped me It might also raise a higher profile for after market parts manufactures to see, a interest in the car body type. Granted, it takes time to set a identifiable meet and greet area. I hope to attend again with the car I've had since I was sixteen.

25 I believe.

Any club can pay to rent a tent. To get a free tent the number is way more than that as they increased the number over the years and now you have to submit an application. They don't even publish the requirements for a tent on their website anymore.

While a club tent is a nice idea, the reality is that people who bring their cars tend to want to hang out near their car when they are not out walking around the cars or walking around the swap meet. IMHO, a club tent is not needed as most of the C Body's are in groups in the same general area. Take a look at the club tents when you walk around Carlisle this year and see that most generally only have a handful of people there most of the time.

BTW, I will be vending this year in Row A, #67 & 68 near what used to be Mitchell's spaces.

I approached this same idea a couple years ago. After some enlightenment from Dave @polara71 , who, along with his family, has been the center of social activity for many of us at Carlisle... skip the tent. If they would put it where we wanted it to be (near our cars) maybe this would have promise... but nobody wants to man a tent away from the rest of our crowd.

From what I saw, in the little attention I have paid to the club tents since, is they seem to be meeting areas for some clubs... a real drag for others with nobody interested in being there... and I didn't find any that created so much positive energy, that I wanted to ask them about themselves.

It's a car show, C Body folks are very hospitable and kind to strangers. The A and B body folks come gawk at us, due to rumors that we don't trailer our cars to the event (its true). If someone had a real interest in asking questions vs. telling about the 88/Lincoln/whatever that was just like that... I promise they'll get answers and most folks love to tell about their cars to interested parties.

Very well put Bill & Jeff . I don't pay attention to the tents. I hadn't realized their prices or required numbers for a free tent had gone up.

And we proudly wrench on or own cars.....

Sometimes on the way to Carlisle or on the road home!

Carlisle never promises that the tent will be anywhere near where the cars are. At best, it's a place for people to gather at a specific time. We already have Dave's tents as a gathering point so we're all set.

I have only been there once, but I knew ahead of time Dave's tent is the FCBO tent. I also wanted to register my car as a C-body and not as a 300, so I would be near the unofficial FCBO area.

Polara71. I hope no hard feelings were had on my very 1st post. But, IF I was not involved in Mopars In Motion Car Club, I would definitely register under FCBO if they had an option for it. Since I'm involved in MIM (and have been longer than here), & they did have FCBO, I would register under MIM. Plus as far as I know you can only register under one club too. As I said no hard feelings.

Support your other group by registering with them.

To all FCBO members... register as a C Body, not an Imperial or 300, to be in line with the majority of the forum. We don't need/want the tent... there are no other benefits that I can recall. The FCBO gang does it's best to meet by Dave's, @polara71 , canopy for a group photo Saturday morning. It's like herding cats then, and worse the rest of the time... but stop and talk to folks, and you'll figure out who's who (and then I forget again, almost immediately).
