The reason I ask if some of you folks worked at Chrysler, or a dealer back in the 60's or 70's, is the wealth of knowledge some of the 'regulars' on here seem to have. Please chime in. Thanks!!

I'll bite!
Dad was hired at Chrysler the year before I was born. This year I retire. Been a Mopar guy for a loooong time.
His first company car was a 1962 Plymouth and his last a 2011 PT Cruiser. I figure he had about a hundred company cars over the years. As a kid in the 60s I was in hog heaven with the cars he drove home. I figure he was designing my Monaco in the summer 63. I only worked at Chrysler as summer help during my college years.

I worked in a Chrysler dealership in 1976 for a year, while I was in engineering school, age 20-21 at the time. I was also heavy into street racing, and spent a lot of time on my 68 Dart GT, building a serious 340 TA motor (from a junkyard!!) to replace the 318, building 4 speeds, building 8 3/4 SureGrips, and chasing chicks who wanted nothing to do with a grimy mechanic. With a noisy, cheap Dart.

As bought, Spring 1973. Cheap gold respray from dealer, originally a copper color..jpg

Then in '79 I got a 71 Cuda for $1650 and life was good for the young engineer.
This is a 1999 photo, just before I sold it.

My dad worked at the Chrysler Electrical plant here in Indy from its inception till 1979. Being the only one interested in auto and truck repair, I got bitten by the MOPAR bug in 1975, first w/ a Charger 500 and a year or so later w/ my 1970 Plymouth Sports Fury GT and now I still have the itch.
