Carlisle 2021

15 following the river is probably flatter.
That was my guess, from intuition and confirming with the elevation map.

If you guys want a nice drive in the country without the turnpike construction. Take route 303 east out of Streetsboro Oh. (you will have to go east on 14 for a mile or so). Follow to end, make a right on route 82, and follow to route 11 for a couple of miles and it will drop you on 80 east of Youngstown Ohio. Literally parallels the pike and is much more scenic, not as boring is 55-65 mph except for couple of towns.
That is exactly the kind of tip that I love. Thank you!

How about continuing a bit further east on 82, then take 7 down to I-80 (another 3-4 miles east of the intersection with 11)?

Yeah that is fine (first red light after you go under 11) will bring you out in Hubbard Ohio, last chance for cheap fuel before you enter the high fuel taxes in Pa.
Reverse that and that's how you beat the west bound chicken house (weigh station for you non truckers). I would not think of doing such a thing myself.
Still under $3 for cheap stuff as of mid May

Deadline for Carlisle Gate-n-Go (advance registration) is coming up on June 5. It often sneaks up on me, or worse, I miss it entirely. I only thought of it as I was telling someone of the car corral, went ahead and did mine before forgetting. Registering ahead is a definite plus, especially if you arrive during a busy time at the gate.

Awesome, thank you guys, I really appreciate the help! This is my first time going to Carlisle since I was 7 so its been quite a while. I am really looking forward to it and meeting all of you!
Thanks,

I have always followed the route Ayilar shows below, and it's the nicest (and most peaceful) way to get there. Yes, you go through some small towns, but you move along fairly well, and is truly the most direct. Also, since you'll be coming from the SOUTH end of Carlisle, find lodging on the SOUTH end, and your trip to/from the fairgrounds is easier.

I have stayed as far away as Gettysburg, and enjoyed the drive each morning and evening. Number of B&B, AirBnB choices, and other accommodations closer to Carlisle, plus a couple of small hotels.

PS: the road I suggested from Gettysburg to Carlisle is not only beautiful but also fun to drive on, with just the right curves and elevation changes for C-bodies.

Apparently Carlisle does not appreciate my passwords. Now I'm locked out. Good thing the phone still tops them all.
Every a-hole web designer needs to remember K.I.S.S.

Remember to preorder any large parts to be delivered to Carlisle. Hood pads, trunk panels, trunk mats, firewall pads. See you there.

Out of curiosity, what areas did you guys register to be in? I have the New Yorker in the Barnfind Area, so I was wondering if I could mostly see your guys' cars in the C-Body area. Also, are we supposed to get something in the mail? I thought I read somewhere that we have to receive a window sticker, and I haven't been to Carlisle in a while, so I thought I would check.
Thanks,

You will get everything in the mail a few weeks before the show. Most of us are in the stock C -Body classes.

I always register my 78 NYB in the stock Formal category. But I'm bringing the Redeye Challenger. I will park across from the C Body line in the Mopar manufacturer performance display area. Most people will assume my car is part of the Mopar performance demo display.

Wow, that Challenger is super clean, it looks great!

Anyone from NE Oklahoma driving there with room in their truck / trailer for a couple boxes of parts on the return trip? We're flying there for our first Carlisle and I'm hoping to bring back a cache of switches and small items .
In the past we have loaded up a couple of suitcases for the return flight, and are planning on that again. But those were general swap meets. where MoPars are few and far between.

Wagoner OK

I will be returning from Carlisle along I-70 into Colorado.
Not sure if that helps. If so, pm me.

28 hours straight without a trailer. This year I'm bringing a cuda. Might as well make my first "car show" entry at the nationals.

Oh I know, I did Idaho to Carlisle in 2016 and 2019 (?) Straight.
I did it the same years going the other way from Jersey to the promised land. 35 hours.
