yes...the old Frank Mitchell collection...I think they also bought Herb's...their prices are high but not as crazy as some of the others out there...website isn't the greatest for prices, it's much more effective to call them

I've bought a few things from them with no problems. I think they finally shook the Frank Mitchell stigma.
They sell on eBay too.

I heard people say this about him:
"I don't know why he doesn't have a bullet in his head"
" The only way to not get screwed is to go there in person and have the part handed to you"
Hemmings Motor News pulled his ads due to endless complaints.
Mike is the owner of AMS as he bought out the Mitchell inventory and has acquired other inventories.
I think he has 7 people working there...possibly more

I've heard those quotes myself, along with "he's the ONLY one that had the part".
Frank has been gone sine 2014 and his reputation still lingers.

AMS is a good resource. Here's the cheat sheet on the best method to get what you need:
1. Know what you need
2. Find the OEM part number
3. Look up the part on their website
4. Call them to confirm. They can email you photos if requested and to confirm what it is, etc.
5. Order it.

I have also dealt with AMS NOS Parts several times. I have always been satisfied.
I have been to the location in Georgia, and they definitely have a bunch of parts! They may be high on prices, but as we all know some of these parts are really getting scarce.

Yep, Mitchell's usually had what others did not, "at a price". A Mopar friend had a co-worker that needed a headlight switch for his '68 Imperial, which was unique to that car. He got one from Mitchell. The one they sold him was really a modified Charger switch, with the extra wire the Imperial needed added to it. It worked, but was not NOS as advertised.
Several guys in our Mopar club bought from Mitchell each year at Mopar Nats (this was toward the earlier 1990s) and knew what they needed. The only time they'd buy from Mitchell, usually.
I knew he had sold, but not specifically to whom. Thanks for the updates!

I'm actually about to call them. I ordered sunvisors and cat whiskers for my 57 Dodge in February. The visors came. I'm still waiting on the cat whiskers.

Frank M had some questionable customer service practices. That aside he was the smartest Chrysler parts person. Frank had a complete collection of parts manuals and all the associated documents like a complete trail of the supercession list for parts. With these docs one could chase a pn thru the system - that is how people ended up with a headlight switch for a xxxx reconfigured with a jumper etc to work in another vehicle. It is alleged that he had inside sources for information like who the scrap dealers were for mopar and parts vendor info so one could go right to the source on ns1 [not avail] parts. If you got him to do a show and tell about parts it was an eye opener.
But most of all children he is one the major people who made Chrysler at Carlisle happen. Yes indeed Frank and a few other big mopar vendors lobbied Carlisle events and there you have it.

I never had a problem with him. I bought a few parts from him at Carlisle. I never did any mail order, so I never experienced any online problems, and I saw the parts that I bought.
I just bought some headlight bezels from them through E bay. They were cheaper than everyone else.
I had heard warnings about Mitchell in the early 2000's from the IML, then one year at Carlisle when approaching their stand, a loud voice said ..."I wouldn't buy it from you if it was the last one on the planet......"
AMS obsolete seems to be a different group, and has better "methods"( for lack of a better term ). What AMS DOES do well, is get their part number / applications correct. This can get confusing between 60's Imps (especially '67 -'68) and other Chryslers. What I have gotten from them was not always a bargain, but WAS always correct.
Thus - we don't need to avoid them any longer.

I actually went there about 5 years ago on my way from Columbus, OH back home to Tampa. Wow, what a trip that place was. I walked the grounds where there are some 600 Mopars sitting out there. Incredible.
I was looking for a trim piece for my '67 Newport Custom. The guy looks it up on the computer, then goes down an aisle, climbs up the shelves almost to the roof deck. He reaches blindly over his head onto a shelf, and voila! produces the correct NOS part. Amazing.

2. Using the casting # if it is different than the number in the part book
You want to use all the numbers associated with this part so both of the above one at a time
Go to Google
then using Google this way:
4658714 Mopar
if you just put a part number in w/o the word Mopar you will see Char Broil grille parts and other crap show up
using Mopar narrows it down to just a Chrysler part
