I have a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. I bought a kit and wired it for trailering and used it a few times. Then my trailer lights wouldn't work. The fuse was blown. Change it and it blows immediately. Something wrong in the power box. Bought another one wired it up all was good for awhile. Hooked up to a brand new trailer today, no lights. Pull the test light out, no power to the plug. These powered wiring harness aren't cheap. Any ideas why this keeps happening.

I'm also curious about wiring it the old fashion way without the power box. Any thoughts from you smarter fellas.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while to get back to your question. I don't remember, but are the turn signals and brake lights the same bulbs or different bulbs? if they are different then that's the reason for the converter. If they are the same, then you could wire it the old way, but I wonder about the load on the wiring. This is the only issue I have with doing it this way

I'll have to look. There's two lights on each side, but I don't remember if they both flash.
Most issues with trailer lights trace back to the trailer.
I would normally agree, but it was a brand new trailer. I also check the van wiring, nothing was coming to the pigtail.
