Got it in my shop and on the lift. Damn this thing is heavy! My Grandson and I couldn't barely push it up on the lift! Anyway first job is to put the fuel tank back in and put an exhaust system on it. After those two things it should run and drive.

The '62 is a very elegant, beautiful year for Imperial. Hopefully your grandson will take interest in it and work on it with you. Best of luck!

Got the tank back in but fuel pump isn't pumping so I'm replacing it today. Looks like a new one was put on it after the engine rebuild but it wouldn't draw gas out of a remote can so it must be bad. I will check push rod length though.

Sometimes you have to prime a new pump a bit. I usually like to pull the feed hose off and squirt in a little wd-40 or something. That gives it some liquid inside to help start the pump/vacuum draw.

I could really use a picture of the car's fender tag/body data plate. To help develop and test my decoder. Yours should look something like the attached. First four digits of the VIN will help. Most likely 9223.

Ok, loaded up to take to the exhaust shop tomorrow morning. After that I'll remove the brake booster to send it out for rebuild and then it should be ready for a highway shake down run to see what else it needs.

Back from the exhaust shop. Sounds great! A little throaty but not loud. Now with a rebuilt brake booster I should be able to drive it on the street.

We need a video of it so we can hear the new exhaust. What mufflers did you go with?
