Many of us have named our cars, it would be interesting to hear what people have named their cars and why.

This is "Monte", Monte got its name from being purchased in Montana. I'm not one that typically names my cars simply "the Barracuda", "the Truck" and this started out as the Polara. That changed when I acquired the CHP car, now I had two Polaras. every time I mentioned the Polara I was following up with ...the Montana car, somewhere a friend asked about Monte and it stuck, the other has been called "Chip" but not sure it is sticking.

My 76 NYB is "Annie" named after the original owner.
And, of course, the 67 Newport is "BitterSweet".

Excellent thread Alan,

We call this car Adleen, the lady behind the wheel ordered the car new and owned it for 32 years, her name is Adleen. A very uncommon name with a nice sound to it

I had a Sport Fury GT we nicknamed "Bob" after a well known local racer/builder that had done some work on the car back before anyone knew him.

The only other car I ever have named is my company car, "Vlad the Impala".

Hmm, not a single name for a single car. I guess the closest I can get is calling my 67 Park Lane "the Big Merc"

The wife and I just use the model or sub model of the vehicle when we talk about them. Except for my Ram 3500, she refers to that as the rough riding turd.

74 Dart - the Dart
65 Polara - the polara
ford Raptor- the Rap or the Raptor
2013 Charger- the charger
2003 Cobra- the cobra
2014 GT500- the Shelby
2012 Ram 3500 - I call it the Dooley, she calls it the rough riding turd

it works for us. But when working on any of the vehicles, I always refer to them as her or girl. The wife says her Raptor is a male, I called bullshit.......I will never change oil on a dude.

"Lookin' in their eyes...I see a memory...I never realized...how happy you made me, oh Mandy"

My '67 Monaco is named Mandy.

Seeing as my cars already have names from the factory or famous nick names, I've stuck with those.

1965 Chrysler 300 Convertible: The 300, The Chrysler or The Convertible
1964 Pontiac GTO: The GTO or The Goat

Super Bee is a traditional Mopar name that inspired the name for this car "Big Bee". The colour combo also helps.

Rare, large and green led to the name "Nessie" for my Polara.
