Ok folks--

I know some of you have so much experience with Mopars that you see fender tag and build codes scrolling in your mind like numbers in the Matrix... what can you tell me about these?

Thanks for your help!

Chris

I can tell you your rear axle is a 3.23 geared open. Not a sure-grip...........

I knew that the first time I ever ran it... I was 15, it was against a black '69 Chevelle. Had to feather the throttle to keep from burning up that right tire on the launch. Beat him anyway :)

PX23 - Plymouth Fury (III?) 2dr fast top
H - 383-4bbl
8 - 1968
D - Belvidere, IL
199378 - sequential VIN

Build date Dec 26, 1967, Torqueflite, 3.23 open diff, black paint & int, cruise control, rear speaker, AM radio, A/C, tinted glass, black vinyl top, fender turn indicators, 26" radiator, wheel mouldings.

Am I close?

Also, does anyone know how to break out Fast Top production numbers? Mymopar.com won't recognize VINs starting with PX.

With your car, don't get into a numbers thing. It's gorgeous. Just enjoy it. It doesn't need to be a 357 of....

Thanks and I do enjoy the tire-smoking **** out of it! People ask, though, and it's made me curious...

It's always a question in my mind too, but I realize some numbers are just not available. But I'm still curious how many of something (anything, really) are still around.

You can just tell those that ask, it's one of a kind (which it looks to be - looks great).

The PX is interesting, I'm surprised they didn't use the 29 body code for special hard top like PL29

Otherwise why were the 67-69 Barracuda Fastbacks not BX23?
