I remember lusting for this car the first time I saw pictures of it, but in the flesh it is outstanding. DryDock members will remember this car as pewtermonaco's (Brent) from Winnipeg Manitoba. I knew he sold it, but only found out today that it is local to me. The current owner used to have a 66 Belvedere 2dr with a factory 426 hemi / 4 speed combo. That car was outstanding as well.

Look at that backed.right over a bicycle and not even a scratch, don't make them like that anymore, that is a beauty.

I swore I would own that car when Brent sold it, if he ever did. When I saw it was up for sale I couldnt believe it. I really, REALLY, thought he would never let it go..... I was also disappointed since it was during bad financial times.... what a gorgeous 69

WOW!
I'm saying that a lot this morning.
I've got to stop looking at these car show picture threads.
Amazing yet depressing in an envious sort of way.

Take notice of the Chrome trim around the front end on this Monaco.

You mean the "in your face" picture of the optional chrome front fender extensions and hood ......? I hadn't noticed...... :poke:

Fantastic !!!

Now Matt has some competition for my interior envy

FIRST thing I noticed. I used to think that was a Fury only thing until last week.

According to an article I read, that was a "spring special" addition that tried to emulate the look of a loop bumper. Apparently the '69 Dodge front end was not well-received in the marketplace while the loop bumper front end of the Chryslers was doing well, so this was a short-term fix until the '70 came out with a loop of its own.

That is a Pewter interior I assume? Sharp.

I have known Brent for years, and just a few weeks ago I met with him and his whole family when they were down here in Southern California. Even his dad is into old cars and his brother knows a lot as well. Brent's whole family is just the best, and his little girls are really sweet. He and his wife have their priorities straight, and I understand both why Brent had to sell and that the decision he made took strength, but his values are in the right place. I just hope he someday can regain another car as nice as his black Monaco. I don't know anyone who I respect more than him.
