Well I took the wagon to the street legal drags last night. The old girl performed good...did eight runs and she never complained. Couple farts and stumbles, but to be expected. Best time was 16.764 sec at 84.08 MPH. My reaction times sucked...but started to get better near the end of the night.

Not bad for a stock 440 with 90K miles, a 727 with about the same mileage, and a 2.76 open rear end....and all that in a 4000lb car with a 270lb driver.:icon_thumleft:

I might go again next week....change a few things on the motor and see if it helps. I could easily see myself snowballing into the drag racing thing with the wagon....I had a hoot.

Good for you Bryan. Taking any car, whether it's a boat like yours, a full out racer, or a /6 Valiant 4 dr. is like taking a drink from the fountain of youth.

Hell yes! You had a great time. I recommend that everyone make a run down the 1/4 mile. I go all the time. Mostly to ProMod, Outlaw 10.5, Top Sportsman, and Radial x275 races. Can't race the Ny'er at those events. Drag racing is my stress relief!

What you driving down the track??

And yes I thoroughly enjoyed screaming down the track with the old girl. Much better then bonsai runs on the street.

What no pictures?

I bracket raced a 69 Super Bee and a 73 Challenger. Fastest run in the Bee was a 12.75 the Challenger was 12.90. I've raced other non-Mopar cars on Sunday's in Stock Eliminator class. Haven't got the NY'er on the track yet. Just curious about a ET/MPH for the big boat. I would be thrilled with a 16 sec and close to 90 mph run. Looks like my best opportunity is going to be a Friday night test and tune...if it ever stops raining on Friday nights here.

Oh Ya, I had a friend that worked on my Dad's Mopar wagons that worked at Peter's Dodge. He got a great deal on a 66 Hemi Charger that sat on the lot that they couldn't sell. He got me an excellent deal ($1995) on my used 69 Super Bee. Needless to say I was in a lot of speeding ticket trouble during that first year. I was one ticket away from losing my license. My Dad was giving me hell about it and Chris (my friend) suggested going to Great Lakes Dragway to race the Bee. So after a couple of month's doing that I started upgrading the Super Bee a little at a time, headers, intake, Direct Connection electronic ignition, cam, pistons. I went to NHRA events all the time and seen all of the big time funny car, dragster, Pro Stock racers. My Dad didn't care for the racing but my brother and friends were all in to it.

Here he comes

Sorry no pics. Wife came down with my daughters to watch, and I never even thought to ask her to take some pics. Next time I will try and get some.
