Yea I know, but no place for throttle rod on that setup and on top of that I don't have the 3 piece mechanism with the pivot on the back of the head for the rod.
Picky, picky, picky....

Honestly I'm.surprised that there's room under my hood, just barely. The fuselage hood is low, flat and wide.!! I even was able to.get a spacer under the carb./!-

Nice work. Seeing you do all of the work under the hood is making my back hurt, I hope to do everything I need while the motor is on the stand, LOL. So when do you fire it up? Your missing some great fall-weather diving!

I know....don't remind me. I have an engine stand but I wasn't planning to pull the motor just to get at the heads. I'm.shooting for test "fire up" by this weekend. I know however there will be some tuning and bugs to work.out before formally.hitting the.road.

My most recent head work was pulling the heads in the extremely cramped engine bay of my Snotty Formal with the engine in the car.
I'm going back to having it on a stand. Never again while it's in the car. Never.
Save that crap for the young'ns.

I really shouldn't even be doing it..lifting those damn heads up and over the fenders put hair on my chest.....but alas, tis' a labor of love.

Ok so here is an update. After a couple weekends of busting my knuckles we are all buttoned up and ready to go. It turns over easily but makes this awful HEAVY tapping noise while running that does not seem to want to go away after repeated starts. I checked and I'm getting around 55-60 psi of oil pressure cold. EVERYTHING is torqued down to exact FSM spec. What in the hell could this be? Seems louder on pass side. Sound familiar? Dammit, I hope I didn't F anything up.
