So the realator had the sign placed in the yard today. Actually wasn't supposed to happen til next week so we'd have time to talk with the family and neighbors.

This afternoon I get an angry phone call from the neighbors phone, saying thanks a lot we should have told them first then a dead line. Ummm the 6 months of saying we're leaving and the past two weeks wasn't enough to know I was serious? Now they won't answer the phone or answer the door. I don't have enough problems, now I have to go smooth the feathers of the neighbors? sheesh.

Meh.

Well, that goes to the top of today's WTF!
Why are they even remotely involved in your selling YOUR property?

We're the first neighbors that have lived directly next to them that they've liked in 13+ years. I guess the two other previous owners of the property they've had problems with. They're very nice people but typical NE'ers, don't like and fear change. Given my politics and him winning the trucker rodeo a few times, it's amazing we are as thick as thieves...

I dunno, but nothing is stopping the train now.

I understand being on good relations with people in your neighbourhood...even friendships develop. But as stated...WTF is up with these clowns. Really it's none of their damn buisness if you sell the house or not, and you don't owe them a single courtesy.

My thought too but.... whatever.

They expected to be told forehand if and when your property was up for sale.
Ok.
Well, I'm thinking you did with the sign.
I don't get it but the "whole world she be going crazy".

Everything will be ok. As long as you remember, it's your fault. You'd think something along grueling lines of, "you're moving? That's a bummer, we will miss you" would be more appropriate. Makes me glad I don't talk to my neighbors.

Oddly, this is the first time we've met the entire street, partied with all but one family and had a generally good time. Honestly I'm going to miss the whole neighborhood more than the family we came back for. Before this street we never cared for neighbors.

I see one of my neighbors at least once a week, because my postman is an idiot and can't read an address on an envelope. Nice older couple.

As a kid, we had a terrible neighbor. One day, after more crap, my Mom said she wished the neighbor would sell and move. I went into action, spending the night at a friend's house. We spent the night collecting for sale signs and put them in the neighbors yard. Including a big yellow wood Century 21 sign. lol. The look on my Parents face was priceless the next day. And they knew right off who was responsible.

Love it! Well done!

So, Am I blessed or cursed for having great neighbors I socialize with?

I have to tell you, around Boston suburbs, you waved hi to three houses. Didn't know the last names of two of them. And one of them you weren't sure exactly how many lived there permanently.
