Stan, whatever happened to the 4 spd Formal?
It's on its umpteenth owner (a collector??) stashed away I heard.
People keep buying it for the wrong reasons!!! :(
I had hopes that someone would give it a good paint job so it would end up on the cover of Mopar Action.
Wasn't meant to be I guess.

That would of been nice....

The last owner dropped off the FCBO radar since he sold it.

Be patient Stan. At some point they will get sick of reporting the high dollar resto mods and one day there it will be. Don't get your hopes up about positive publicity though. Dave and I found that our the hard way. I think you know the story.

YesYes, Fred. Yes I do.....

It will end up in MCG in about 20 years though when it's dragged out its barn and the article headline says:
FOUND! Rare 1 of 1 New....
And I won't be around to correct the story. Lol.

It wasn't... :D
I'm just saying it's not a Plug n Play operation.
You have to really know your all your Mopar drive train parts to make it easier to mix, match, and fab.

A B or RB with the 4 speed pilot hole and 66 - 74 B body 4 speed trans, bell housing, flywheel, 66-70 B shifter and shift rods, and a new clutch would be perfect .. just need the correct fork and z bar for this car or mod the parts it has and a donor car or someone parting a car for the stub frame and other BB stuff

I have the motors and 4 speed stuff if someone decides to do it emoticonbigsmile.gif

May still happen. I hope you are still around when if it does .. not the magazine piece but finishing it off with paint and whatever else it needs

Right now, I'd estimate that the money put into that car by all its owners would buy you a nice E-body... :D

His posts there would give me a headache trying to read them. He would always post a big long list of cars he found for sale with no formatting whatsoever. Very hard to follow. Then after all the years of asking to find him his holy grail 69 Fury /6 3-speed, when someone did he flaked out and came up with some reason why he couldn't buy it.

True to a point. You cant have them all, so he would pick and choose. As I remember he did fall on hard times but like me has a aching passion for one breed yet still loyal to them all

Hello lads, yes Paul posted this car last week on the Dry Dock. Really like the stripped down vibe of this car - B7 Jamaica Blue Metallic (or B5 Blue Fire Metallic, not sure?), blue interior, and no vinyl top is waaay cool too. Overpriced though, and wonder what the bottom of the rear window is like....

Perfect for a sleeper: Big block V8 with floor manual trans, body-colour wide steels with big n' little rubber (faaaaaat rubber under the arse). And Bryan's got the pieces, so somebody please rescue it!

About this car, apart from the damaged rhs fender and rust issues with rhs quarter/driver's floor/firewall, looks pretty solid.

I realise that photos can be misleading, but the trunk floor looks really good actually (meaning the base of the rear window could be solid. Certainly possible due to it having no vinyl roof....). Love that blue colour (seems to be rare enough on C-Bodies), and blue interiors are rarer again, plus the 2-Door Sedan body was only produced for 2 years (1969 and 1970). All in all, a rare car but definitely not worth $2500. I say $1000 max. to be honest (?).

It would benefit its stopping power by having a brake servo/booster unit fitted, however I have read that that the power brake pedal assembly is actually different than the non-power version in manual C-Body cars? There have been a few comments/threads here on this very subject. Wonder would it be easier just to convert to manual disc set-up? Was this even put into many Fuselage cars, probably doubtful....?

Put a Hemi in it like this bruiser lol:

http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/mopp-0602-1970-plymouth-fury/Note that this article car does not actually have a brake servo/booster either. It is also interesting that he used a '73 Fury front disc brake set-up (I have a parts car '73 Gran Sedan...).

Also, the owner has made himself a set of Dodge Magnum GT wheels (essentially 15x7 cop wheels without the dog dish cap nobs, with centre cap and trim ring).

Classy........

That is a fanstastic idea Aiden. btw your second link is broken

Here's a pic of a super coupe 15 x 8 wheel and a Magnum 15 x 7 wheel

Love that brown 70! Great pics and what a cool car. Thanks for posting Aidan. My 69 was a 6 cyl 3 speed car as the blue one is and the previous owner swapped manual discs onto mine. Stops really good actually for a big car!

Hey Mike, so when the previous owner added that 383 BB to your '69 Fury I car, how did he do it may I ask - did he swap in a BB C-Body sub-frame or make/obtain engine mounts for the 383?

Thanks mate

I have found that this car is a poor choice to turn into a sleeper.
There is no conversion kit from anyone to drop a BB into that C-body /6 stub frame.

Following that, there is nothing in that hole left by the 3 speed that will help you with the 4 speed that you thought would drop right in. Nope.

All you get out of that car is a set of pedals. Everything else is fabbed.

Even the Accurate Exhaust spec's for that car comes 2" too long because the spec's are for the 2" longer Polara....

Plus the upgrading.
Radiator, brakes, t-bars.

Hi Aidan,
I actually just talked with him and what he did was used mounts for a mid 80's dodge truck. He said the fit perfectly. He did a small bit of mods to the center on the drivers side, but he did a good job and they look good.
He said he actually talked to Schumacher about making them. He sent them the directions for his and they called him back a few days later and said it was a nice job and they could make some, but no demand.
