How do they know 1 of 1?

They don't but it makes for good copy.

When you consider the amount of combinations and options that were possible, they, usually, exceed the number of cars actually produced. One of One is no big deal. Except for fleet cars, most cars are one of one. Find two cars ordered exactly alike.

I haven't seen the documentation that FM3 was released for C bodies but if the paint was special ordered, I would expect to find a 999 paint code. This car does code FM3. It does code Y39 with a K VON.

Nice find, but not a color I would choose.

I would take a Fury painted in Curious Yellow.

I like this color, but under certain light in photos it can look like Sublime.
it's a color suited for the little guys, not a C

What do you think about this beauty....

As I see in the article this car was actually ordered for a Mary Kaye employee, I remember someone making a joke about it being a Mary Kaye order as this car turned up for the first time last year.

Wrong shade for a Mary Kay car. Plus, Mary Kay has always given GM products (primarily Cadilacs) to their top sales members; and NEVER Ford, Chrysler, or AMC. Maybe someone who worked for MK as an employee ordered one for themselves, but I can assure you that this was not a MK award car. Besides, ALL MK cars go to the award winners for a period of only one year, then they are retrieved by the Mary Kay company, repainted a different color, then resold. Notice you never, ever see a real Mary Kay pink car for sale? That is why.

Nice Fury, though. I'd rock that.

What cars came out of Belvedere with a 999 code any on Record Doug? ( was this car built at Belvedere?)

Of course if one wants to break down all the options which has always been my argument with the one of one guys but lets just look at the paint color on the model please.

I can show you two 70 polara convertibles ordered exactly alike ...

Yes, the car was built at Belvedere.

I do not have a large enough sample of 70 Belvedere built cars to answer the 999 question.

RE convertibles. Cool. Were they sequential and/or close in VON numbers? Were they sales bank cars? Promos?

It was somewhat of a trick answer... the Rose Bowl Cars.. Two exactly alike, the 3rd a buddy instead of console. These are not coded with a Y on the tag 41, 43 and 44 are the last numbers in the three VINs, otherwise, all the same.

Agreed, the article says it was ordered by the husband and mainly to comliment the Cuda ordered for the son in the same hue.

View attachment 78950 I thought some fuselage fans would enjoy knowing this was out there. Interesting read as well, it says pink was not really available on the Furys but they pulled some strings to make it happen.

Neat car,...I've been hearing about it for years, and keeping up on the restoration....too bad it's not a V-code,.............just kidding!

The color is called "Tiger Orange". The car in that photo was a special edition Charger to commemorate the Bengal Tiger's first year in the AFL. It was originally a Dodge fleet color.

The Cincinnati Bengals, no "tigers". They were sold by Tom Kneer Dodge on Harrison Ave., they must have moved shortly after that because my Dad bought a new '69 Polara from them and the dealership was on Glenway Ave. at the time. Incase anybody cares...
