1970 dual exhaust routing - images?

If possible, make a Supreme effort to locate correct factory pipe hangers and saddle hangers in their correct mounting locations. They ARE out there. Really....
The TTI system supplies all the mounts. They may not be just like oem, but they work well.

UPDATE: So, I got my Accurate Exhaust mufflers and tail pipes installed today. Because of the lack of availability of C-body mufflers being reproduced (they weren't sure if they could even get them) and me not wanting a super quiet exhaust note, I went with the Hemi HP (that's what they're called--because what Hemi isn't HP?) mufflers which are a little shorter than the stock C-body mufflers and what were used on all Hemi cars back in the day. Like the Hemi models, HP C-bodies in 1970 sent a 2.5" pipe to the muffler and a 2.25" (tail) pipe from the back of the muffler. So this is what I ended up with.

Upon installation, I started it up and then I walked around to the back of the car. I've gotta say, it sounds exactly how I want it to. Has a great tone when standing behind it, a nice rumble when you accelerate. No drone, no annoyance. And it actually seems to have added some performance over the glasspacks that were on it (not sure if this is possible or if I actually feel better putting the pedal down because it's not so damn loud). Accurate did a good/"accurate" job on the tail pipes. They don't go over the leaf springs and have the nice turn down ends.

Overall, I'm sure happy with what I got.

This is what I don't get, its a computerized machine, right? Insert pipe push button?

Well, I didn't get the indication they wouldn't special order make the tail pipes anymore. They just won't have any in stock. And it seems like the mufflers aren't being made by any of the muffler makers. However, I do highly recommend the Hemi mufflers I got.

Well, I have nothing bad to say about Accurate. I can't remember who I spoke to on the phone, but he was cool enough to bend up a set of tailpipes for me and got it out to me super quick and was spot on with his recommendation on the mufflers. So they did good in my book. Sorry to everyone else who may not have had a good experience with them or is upset they're no longer carrying C-body stuff. I get the frustration.

Sorry for the sore feelings some may have expressed regarding the c body products we no longer produce. As explained on another thread there was not enough volume or interest to continue.
Our most current figures are that for every c body exhaust system sold there were 1034 exhaust systems sold of a,b and e body. It does not take rocket science to figure out why we made the business discision we made. However we do have existing inventory still listed on our web site
that is still available.

As said, everyone knows TTI has exhaust systems for Cs and we've seen many installed. So why does no one recommend Accurate ? There had to be a reason...

I think there's a couple reasons. None have to do with Accurate's quality or customer service.

For one, the C-body guys aren't into the "correctness" like the B and E body guys. We're happy to just get the parts and have them fit. Quite frankly, it's one of the reasons I like this crowd. I've never been into getting correct date coded parts and there's almost zero references to that level of restoration here. Having the right nuts on the hanger by the rear end might be important for the guy with the restored Hemi 'Cuda, but no one is going to climb under my old 300 to take a look.

The other is that the original C-body exhaust is pretty anemic. Quite often it was a single exhaust pipe or duals that had 2" tail pipes. A lot of guys, myself included, just can't bear to spend hard earned money on the stock pipes when the TTI stuff will offer a performance and mileage (at least in theory) gain for the same money and maintain an appearance that most people will think is stock.

I understand the business decision to not service the C body community. The ratio shows total Mopar business against C-body business and not comparing to C-body to A-body or something that I would find more interesting though... But that's me.

The answer is pretty simple... Give this guy enough business to justify making some C-body pipes and I'll bet he will. Staying with the core business is good, especially if the resources are already stretched, but most business guys know to be flexible and keep an eye on opportunity, especially if the tooling and system knowledge already exists.

One c to every A B and E. Is that all three to one or one line to one line?

So accurate only produced factory originals? How do they compare to tti?

Many years ago, I bought a Soup to Nuts system from Accurate. The bends were dead on.
Their service was excellent .
Sorry to see them go.

Thanks so why do guys know about the tti system and not the accurate? My guess is advertising. .....

The reality is it isn't, very old school operation, quite small.
They have a few tricks for layout.
(I have seen their shop, it was after that post)

I think Big John summed it up

The Accurate Exhaust wimpy stocked sized systems were just as much as the mandrel bent 3" TTI systems. And since most Cbody folks don't spend much on the initial purchase on their cars (well, at least I don't my 70 Plymouth Suburban was $2200 and my 71 Sport Fury was $3750) forking over $1000 for 2.5 duals and 2.25" tailpipes is just crazy talk I am REALLY happy with the fit and sound (Long Dynamax 3" Super Turbo mufflers) of my currently 'stock' 383 engine. Is the 3" TTI overkill for a stock engine? Absolutely. But, it won't be if I ever get a good set of heads and the stroker short block under that double hump hood!
