2017 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals July 14-16

I'll be there with or without our Fury, but hopefully I'll have our 70 Fury driving by then so my wife can drive it out, and I'll drive our Charger out.

I missed your welcome thread, so :welcome:

I hope you make it over so I can see your car(s).

I also really want to build a cruise night or two in while I'm in Pittsburgh this year. I hated not getting to do that last year.

As in 2015, I'm staying at the Marriott Courtyard, Mechanicsburg this year. Reservations are reasonably affordable and it's right off the turnpike exit. 16.3 miles, 25 minutes. Took longer to get from the Carlisle exit into the fairgrounds than from the hotel to the Carlisle exit. I'm coming in Thursday so the first night is 109 but goes to 143 per night after that. Cancellation policy for Marriott can be rough if you're not a rewards member but if you are, they are normally very accommodating. Unfortunately I had to cancel at the last minute last year and there was no charge.

Take a look at the map around that area and there's a couple different ways into the fairgrounds where you avoid the traffic jam. Basically, you want to end up coming in from the north and turning left into the fairgrounds.

I was shown a back way last year that was a really nice drive, but it took me way out of the way. I'm going to try going up Rt641 this year.

The Chrysler show has minimal traffic. I never mind much sitting in the car with a bunch of other old cars running wild around me

Not sure if I'm going to make it this year. Probably vacationing out west this summer. Of course last year was a last minute decision so who knows?

Sure hope you make it to Carlisle again. It was great meeting you and your wife last year.

Chris, I hope you make it to Carlisle.

I think your wife liked Carlisle too.

It depends on what time you leave or arrive. I've breezed through with traffic flowing nicely, even though there was a bunch of cars. I've hit it where the traffic is stopped too. When they were working on the bridge by the exit, it was awful.

I caught it once last year when I was headed back to the hotel and the traffic was backed up. It was crawling all the way to the highway entrance. In the hot sun with the top down, I was cooking just a little too much to enjoy it.

I don't have the top down much at Carlisle, if at all. Then again, this year, different car, different circumstances.

Not this year. Getting four cars 125 miles from home is a chore. Getting them home safe was a nail biter. Probably just two this year

No going back now! Just booked a room at the comfort inn in Mechanicsburg! Planning to get there Thursday evening. Will be staying for all 3 days. Then heading north to see family Sunday. Can't wait!! Gotta get going on this car!! lol
