I made this guy an offer that I thought was fair and took the time to explain that I wasn't trying to insult him and that he could just keep my number and compare it to other offers he gets... dude got mad and explained that the car wasn't for sale to "someone like you". I'm not sure what that means--a C-body enthusiast with a particular interest in '68 plymouths (I own 3 Fury III fast tops)? A proficient employer of the SHIFT key? One can't know.

Anyway, this car exists. Maybe one of you is of the chosen variety to purchase what seems like a decent car. You'll have to shell out 250% of what it's worth, though.

I like it except for the exhaust tips and the direction they're aimed. Reminds me of a kickstand on a bicycle.

They aren't on the pic in the garage. It also has the '68 Plymouth dog dishes in that pic. I'm thinking that this cat bought it for close to nothing, cleaned it up, threw the '67 caps on with the tips and thinks he's due for a payday. Typical non-car-guy BS.

That one has a lot going for it. Sometimes I think it's curious how the seller arrives at the price they put on them. Lots of possible reasons I guess. But shutting down a buyer like that just screams of " I really don't want to sell, but the old lady told me to try"

You wouldn't take a picture of a car with all of that garbage piled in/on/around it if it was yours and you wanted to present it/yourself well. That's how he found it and is trying to drum up that "barn find" allure. He probably just got done watching Fast N Loud and thought, "well hell, I could do that!"

Route the exhaust $500, re-upholster the front seat $1000, clean up the engine bay etc and you might just have a $13,500 car. If someone wasn't in a hurry a did some of the work yourself this could be a diamond in the rough. There was one of these last year in BC with the exact same color combo for $5500 that had the interior re-done, however the wood grain was missing from one side and it had a couple of minor body and molding dents. It would have been a $10K body job. The exterior on this one looks pretty nice which is a big plus.

Its real easy to find ads with stupid prices on them. Cars that you know will never go for anywhere near the asking price, such as this 66 Polara convertible (advertised as a 67) for $35k...
67 Dodge Polara!

...or this 65 Imperial Ghia limo advertised for one million dollars...
Chrysler Imperial Ghia limo, 1965

I myself recently looked at a small block late 60's Barracuda fastback that the owner had been told is worth several hundred thousand dollars. Years ago I remember a conversation with an estate attorney trying to liquidate a late client's assets. The elderly owner had a nice little 68 318 Barracuda coupe (not even a fastback). Before she passed away she had heard that a 71 Hemi Cuda convertible had sold for over a million. She told her family that her Barracuda was worth more than the house. Estate attorney couldn't convince the family that Granny was wrong.

All wagons exhaust exits at the side. Otherwise with the rear gate glass lowered, even just a little, the exhaust would be sucked inside the car. Especially Undesirable to third seat passengers.

For posterity
